Projects: TheEnvisionist and more Design/Science Fiction

The Envisionist is more of a pastime than anything else. I have to create something at all times, so this is an outlet for that. The website features a selection of my original art and typographic design for sale. (I won't be getting rich on this, by the way.) There is also a pitch offering my interior design chops since that was a massive part of my life before teaching. It's all creative, so I love doing it.

Next on the list is my writing. Since I spent the better part of my teaching career researching and writing about Design Fiction, it still fascinates me. I've just completed a novel, a well-grounded piece of science fiction, action, whodunit, and design fiction commentary. It takes place on a deep space freighter, the MTS Myrrh. True to my obsessive insistence on detail, I built the Myrrh in 3D with a schematic of all the decks. An actual model was indispensable to chronicle the labyrinth our protagonist has to navigate to survive. You can see it here.
